Website data handling

A concise explanation of what the public website processes, what HydroGeo stores, and where visitors should place project-specific information.

Automated service guide

General questions only

The HydroGeo Service Guide is an automated information tool. It is limited to approved public service descriptions and does not replace qualified professional review.

  • HydroGeo does not write service-guide messages or responses to its project database.
  • Conversation text is kept in the current browser tab using session storage and can be cleared from the guide.
  • Messages sent to the guide are processed through the OpenAI API with response storage disabled. Under default API data controls, abuse-monitoring records may be retained by OpenAI for up to 30 days.
  • The site keeps only an opaque first-party session identifier and short-lived request counters for misuse and cost controls. Counter records expire within 48 hours.

Do not enter names, telephone numbers, email addresses, exact project locations, coordinates, client information, or confidential project records in the guide.

Project briefs

Information you choose to submit

The project-brief form is separate from the automated guide. It stores the information submitted after consent so HydroGeo can review and respond to the enquiry.

Only provide records you are authorized to share. Avoid uploading or pasting confidential client material until the appropriate project arrangements are in place.
